Ovarian cancer is often called the “silent” cancer because its early symptoms can be vague and easy to ignore. But many women do experience warning signs — they’re just subtle at first.
⚠️ These symptoms are common and usually caused by less serious conditions. What matters is persistence and change from your normal.
Here are 8 signs to pay attention to 👇

1️⃣ Persistent Bloating
Not occasional bloating after a big meal — but swelling that:
• Happens almost daily
• Lasts for weeks
• Feels different than usual
2️⃣ Pelvic or Lower Abdominal Pain
Ongoing pressure, cramping, or discomfort in the lower belly that doesn’t go away.
3️⃣ Feeling Full Quickly
If you:
• Start eating and feel full after just a few bites
• Lose appetite without trying
This can be an early warning sign.
4️⃣ Frequent Urination
Needing to urinate more often or urgently — without a urinary infection — can sometimes be related.
5️⃣ Changes in Bowel Habits
New constipation, diarrhea, or digestive changes that last more than a couple of weeks.
6️⃣ Unexplained Fatigue
Extreme tiredness that doesn’t improve with rest and feels unusual for you.
7️⃣ Unexplained Weight Loss or Gain
Sudden weight loss without trying — or abdominal weight gain due to fluid buildup.
8️⃣ Back Pain
Persistent lower back pain without injury, especially when combined with other symptoms above.
⚠️ When to See a Doctor
You should consider medical evaluation if:
✔️ Symptoms last more than 2–3 weeks
✔️ They occur almost daily
✔️ They feel new or unusual for your body
✔️ You have a family history of ovarian or breast cancer
Doctors may use pelvic exams, ultrasound, or blood tests to investigate further.
💗 Important Reminder
Most women with these symptoms do not have ovarian cancer. Conditions like IBS, hormonal changes, or infections are far more common.
But early detection makes a big difference in outcomes — so listening to your body matters.
